After just missing out on the No. 1 spot last year, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is now the highest-paid actor in the world.
Forbes released its annual list of the top 10 highest-paid actors and Johnson came out on top at No. 1, besting the likes of Will Smith, Chris Hemsworth, Adam Sandler, Jackie Chan, Robert Downey Jr. and more. According to the article, Johnson earned $89.4 million between June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019 thanks to his various acting roles in movies and television as well as making seven figures in royalties from his clothing line, shoes and headphones with Under Armour.
The Forbes list includes earnings estimates based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, plus interviews with industry insiders. The figures are pre-tax, and do not include fees for agents, managers and lawyers, which are usually 10%, 15% and 5%, respectively.
Johnson was No. 2 on Forbes' top 10 back in 2018, losing to George Clooney for the top spot after the tequila company Clooney co-founded helped him earn a whopping $239 million.
