EC3: WWE Takes Concussions Very Seriously, Except That One Time They Called Me Up With A Concussion

EC3 talks about concussion protocol in WWE.

In recent years, there has been a big focus in pro wrestling on concussion protocol and making sure talent do not compete with brain injuries. WWE and AEW have both faced criticism for how they have handled such incidents in the past, but for one former WWE superstar, he feels WWE do it the right way.

While speaking on The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 discussed WWE's concussion protocol and praised it despite the fact he was called up to the WWE main roster with a concussion in 2019.

“I will say to WWE’s credit, at the apex of the business they are, they take concussions very seriously, and they have the impact tests, and you have to go through tests and check with doctors, and even if you were cleared and you didn’t feel right, they’ll never rush you back. Except that one time they called me up with a concussion once, but that’s a different story. Maybe it’s just the aspect of competition vs intense performance… If there was anybody who had any issues in WWE, they would hold you out and not make you go out there like the days of the past. They’re very conscious of concussions. But there’s no scheduled time off. You could be getting kicked countless times and not notice it until the big one happens. We understand that going into it, though.”

EC3 is currently signed to the NWA, where he is the NWA World Champion.

NXT superstar Dijak recently pledged to donate his brain to CTE research following his death. You can read more about that here.
