Eddie Kingston Says He Shifted His Mindset After AEW Worlds End 2023, ‘I Reached All My Goals, This Is Business Now’

Eddie Kingston changed his mindset after Worlds End 2023.

The pay-per-view notably featured the finals of the first ever Continental Classic, as Blue League’s Eddie Kingston took on Gold League’s Jon Moxley. A ton of gold was on the line, with Kingston putting up his ROH World Championship and his NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship. The AEW Continental Championship, the grand prize of the tournament, was also up for grabs.

Speaking with Busted Open Radio for a new interview, Eddie Kingston reflected on his win, saying that he shifted into a business-led mindset after the victory.

“I think after I got the triple crown after Worlds End. I sat in the back and looked at all three of the belts and I went, ‘Okay, this is a business now, now I’ve gotta make business decisions. I’m a champion, I should be treated as such.’ I need to not pick my opponents, I gotta do what’s right for business because if AEW is not around, where am I going to make my money? I’m gonna have to go back to the independents. As a champion, this has to be business. I was sitting by myself having a little bit of whiskey and I went, ‘Alright, business time now. I reached all my goals, this is business now.’”

Elsewhere in the interview, Eddie Kingston talked about AEW changing over the years. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
