Eddie Kingston and Ortiz will take on the Kings of the Black Throne (Malakai Black & Brody King) on the January 13 episode of AEW Rampage.
The two teams have been feuding for weeks, as the House of Black (Black, King, Buddy Matthews & Julia Hart) targeted Kingston and Ortiz shortly after the group returned on the November 23 episode of AEW Dynamite. The two sides have sent each other messages in a few promos, and on the January 6 episode of Rampage, the House of Black continued to target Kingston. Black addressed their history, and King stated that "The Mad King" was sick. Hart then said that they want to help him.
During AEW Battle of the Belts V later in the same night, Kingston challenged the House of Black to a match the following week. AEW then announced that Kingston and Ortiz will face Black and King on EW Rampage.
Plus, Ruby Soho will continue her feud with Tay Melo. Soho suffered a broken nose during her mixed tag team match against Melo and Sammy Guevara on the Zero Hour ahead of AEW All Out. She later returned on the November 30 episode of AEW Dynamite and attacked Melo.
Soho defeated Melo on AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming, but the rivalry continued, as Melo had the numbers advantage due to her alliance with Anna Jay A.S. The duo then defeated Soho and Nightingale on the December 28 episode of AEW Dynamite. During Battle of the Belts V, the two teams discussed their upcoming Street Fight, which was confirmed for Rampage.
