Eddie Kingston: My Job Is To Make People Talk About Us, If They Talk About Backstage Stuff, That's On Me

Eddie Kingston comments on backstage news in AEW.

With the prevalence of social media in wrestling, and wrestlers and promotions taking fans behind the scenes with vlogs and documentaries, fans are closer than ever to what goes to backstage in wrestling. Sometimes, the backstage scene isn't so pretty, and those are the stories that fans want to hear about the most, and those stories overshadow the television product.

Speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Eddie Kingston was asked if it bothers when fans pay more attention to the backstage than the on-screen.

"Nah. It doesn't bother me because I don't care. I have a job to do. My job is to make the people talk about us. If I didn't do a good enough job to where they want to talk about backstage stuff, that's on me. I'll just do better next time. There was no locker room divide (with CM Punk), like it was reported, because I don't really hang out with a lot of people. I have four or five people I chill with in the locker room and those four or five people didn't give a shit what was going on. We were in our own world because we had to go to work, and that's it. People are going to talk about the drama because people love drama. That's why we have those kind of movies and all that. They love it. It's our job to go out there and produce, to make them forget. I think we are. If people still want to talk about it, that's on them, not on me," he stated.
