Eddie Kingston Says He Was Given Multiple Dates For Blood & Guts, His Eyes Lit Up At Detroit

AEW will hold its second Blood & Guts match on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite with Blackpool Combat Club and Friends taking Jericho Appreciation Society. The event will be held in Detroit, a sports city that has built a reputation for being tough and rugged.

At the crux of the feud is Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho, who have been linked together for the majority of the year as untrusting partners who turned into bitter enemies.

Speaking to WXYZ Detroit, Kingston explained why Detroit was the perfect place for Blood & Guts.

"Detroit, for me, feels like home," Kingston said. "Feels like New York and where I've hung out and grown up, the places I've been in Detroit. Places like Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, they feel like home. I was asked where would I like to do it, and they gave us a bunch of dates where we could possibly do it. And I heard Detroit. I said Detroit will get it. They'd get it and will understand the violence, and they will appreciate it. I'm not knocking anywhere else, but I remember when (AEW president Tony Khan) said Detroit, my eyes lit up."

Kingston will team with Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Santana & Ortiz against Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Jake Hager, & Daniel Garcia.
