Eddie Kingston: Wrestling Video Games Made Wrestling Legit

Eddie Kingston hates Madden, loves wrestling video games.

If you follow Eddie Kingston on social media, you've likely seen him tweet about his disdain for Madden Franchise mode and Madden in general. On January 13, he said this would be the last year he'd buy Madden as the game doesn't allow you to play defense.

He may hate Madden, but he loves wrestling games and believes when the games exploded in popularity on N64, that helped make wrestling legit.

"There were so many great wrestling video games, especially when I was younger. Having a wrestling video game was everything because it made wrestling legit like all the other sports. It added more credibility to the sport. You grow up and play games like Virtual Pro Wrestler 2 and it just blows you away. Then all the N64 games [WrestleMania 2000, No Mercy, WCW/NWO Revenge] and all the SmackDown games. When I grew up and wrestling got super hot, everybody was playing those games," Kingston said on FanBoy Nation

It is unknown if Eddie will be in the upcoming AEW video game.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Eddie said he's pushing Tony Khan to try and buy the New York Knicks so he can be the general manager. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
