Edge In Action, Sasha Banks To Defend Women's Championship On 3/19 WWE SmackDown

For the first time in 11 years, Edge will compete in a singles match on SmackDown.

In the main event segment on March 12, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns met in the ring for a contract signing for their Universal Championship match at Fastlane. Roman, however, refused to sign the contract, saying that Bryan doesn't deserve the opportunity. After some prodding, the Tribal Chief angrily signed the paper, but that didn't stop Bryan from telling Reigns that he would tap him out just like he did his cousin.

Jey Uso then suggested that he be the special enforcer for the match. Edge came out and challenged Jey to a match next week with the winner earning the right to be the special enforcer during the Fastlane bout. Adam Pearce quickly made it official.

All of the men proceeded to fight, with Daniel Bryan standing tall as SmackDown went off the air.

Additionally, The Boss will defend her title on the March 19 episode of SmackDown.

WWE has announced that Sasha Banks will face Nia Jax next week in a SmackDown Women's Championship match. The idea came about during a backstage segment when Reginald suggested to Nia that he challenge Sasha for her title and become a double champion before Banks. Nia and Shayna Baszler are set to defend their Women's Tag Team Titles versus Banks and Bianca Belair at Fastlane on Sunday, March 21, 2021.

On SmackDown, Jax and Baslzer took Reginald suit shopping. Nia would say that they're in a situationship, even calling him her bae while on commentary. Banks and Belair's night went less than stellar, losing a match to Tamina and Natalya, while tensions between the two continued to rise.
