Edge Open To Toronto Maple Leafs Players Making In-Ring Cameos At WWE SmackDown In Toronto

Edge is open to having the Toronto Maple Leafs members in the ring when SmackDown comes to Toronto in August 2023.

While Edge is very passionate about the world of professional wrestling and has made a name for himself in the world as acting as well, the Toronto Maple Leafs are also a lifelong passion for "The Rated R Superstar."

Edge was recently photographed alongside his lifelong best friend and former Tag Team Championship partner, Christian Cage, at a couple of Maple Leaf games and was recently a guest on The Leafs Nation's Leafs Morning Take, talking about his fandom and his confidence in the Maple Leafs' ability to play with less pressure when it comes to the NHL playoffs.

At the end of the interview, Edge was asked about potentially seeing some Maple Leaf players make in-ring cameos when Smackdown comes to Toronto in August 2023.

Edge acknowledged that he had just been drafted to the brand as part of the 2023 WWE Draft and is willing to share the ring with some of the Toronto Maple Leaf's roster if everything works out.

"It'd be very cool. I don't know. I guess it'll probably end up depending on how things pan out whether they want to, you know, pop in for appearances, but I'm guessing I'll be there. I found out I got traded to SmackDown, so I guess I'll be there," he said

Edge also put over the Maple Leafs' second-round Stanley Cup opponents, the Florida Panthers, for their ability to out-hustle the Boston Bruins and defeat them in the TD Garden, putting aside his Leafs biases and extending an olive branch because he knows what it's like to step into the TD Garden against a hometown favorite and come away with the victory just as he did against John Cena at WWE SummerSlam 2006.

The Maple Leafs snapped the Tampa Bay Lightning's three-year Stanley Cup Finals streak this year, knocking them out in the first round of the playoffs. This Maple Leaf's roster is more ruthless than Edge, who passed up an opportunity to snap the Undertaker's WrestleMania streak in 2008. Learn more about that here.

Edge has previously stated he is interested in retiring in Toronto. Learn more about that at this link.
