WWE issued a storyline update on Edge following Monday's WWE Raw.
Edge was brutally assaulted by Randy Orton in the closing segment of Raw on January 27. Orton laid out Edge with an RKO, hit him with a chair, and finished him off with a con-chair-to to end the show. Orton nearly Pillmanized the neck of Edge, but thought better of it. Edge was removed from the ring on a stretcher.
Edge has been taken to a local medical facility following an attack by Randy Orton at the conclusion of Raw, WWE.com has learned.
The WWE Hall of Famer, who returned to Raw following an in-ring comeback at the 2020 Royal Rumble event, was celebrating his improbable return from retirement when Orton attacked, targeting Edge with several steel chair strikes.
