Edge Was Legitimately Choked Out By John Cena At WWE Unforgiven 2006

For anyone who thinks John Cena's STF wasn't tight enough, there is at least one instance where Cena choked out his opponent with the hold.

On WWE Untold, Edge and John Cena discussed their epic rivalry through the 2000s, which included a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at WWE Unforgiven 2006. In that match, Cena locked Edge in the STF and used the ladder to assist him. The ladder made all the difference in the effectiveness of the hold.

"At one point, John put me in the STF when I was trapped in a ladder. Because the ladder added an extra distance from his arms, he actually choked me out. You can watch me pass out. I just remember hearing an alarm and thinking I was late for an Air Canada flight. I remember hearing [buzzing sound]. When I came to, it was me making the noise and I was looking up at the Air Canada Center logo. I had never been choked out before. Then it was just, get to the next thing," recalled Edge.

Fortunately, Edge was able to come to and finish the match, which was won by Cena.

Elsewhere during the WWE Network special, Cena discussed the polarizing reactions he receives from audiences. You can find his full comments by clicking here
