Eight-Man Tag Team Match Announced For 10/18 WWE SmackDown

SmackDown is loading up its next show with a big tag team match.

WWE announced that The New Day and Heavy Machinery will take on The Revival, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode in an eight-man tag team match on the October 18 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The match will serve as a preview for the Crown Jewel show on October 31 where all of those teams will be part of the largest Tag Team Turmoil Match in WWE history.

Already announced for the October 18 episode of SmackDown is Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Roman Reigns for the Intercontinental Championship as well as a six-pack challenge between Carmella, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. The winner of that six-pack challenge will get a future shot at Bayley's SmackDown Women's Championship.

From WWE:

"With all of WWE’s top twosomes on a collision course for tag team supremacy at Crown Jewel in the largest Tag Team Turmoil Match in history, SmackDown’s premiere tag teams will clash on Friday Night. The New Day team up with Heavy Machinery as The Power of Positivity meets “The Power of Colossal Creativity” in a matchup against SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Revival and the glorious pairing of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

Who will position themselves as the class of the new SmackDown division? Can these teams coexist, or will the upcoming Tag Team Turmoil showdown cause the match to devolve into chaos?"

Fightful will have live coverage of SmackDown with a post-show podcast to follow as soon as SmackDown goes off the air.
