EJ Nduka talks about Savio Vega and names his dream matches.
EJ Nduka is one of the many names that has been released by WWE in the last year and a half. The major difference for a name like EJ is that he never got started on WWE television and therefore, is now able to begin his journey and wrestling with something of a blank canvas.
Landing in MLW, Nduka has emerged as a major star, racking up a hefty number of eliminations during his debut at MLW Battle Riot III and then competing for the honor of MLW against CONTRA inside the War Chamber structure.
Speaking on the most recent Battleground Podcast, EJ named some hypothetical dream matches for himself in the world of wrestling, noting that he wants to get in the ring with Ricochet and have a clash of titans one day with Omos, should they ever cross paths.
“That's a great question. I really, really want to get in the ring with King Ricochet, I feel like we can make some magic. I feel like Ricochet and I can make some magic. Also, I want to work with big Omos. Omos, I think that'd be a great clash of the titans.”
EJ also agreed with the hosts' statement that they would like to see him get in the ring with Moose, saying that they made the right call when they predicted that he would win the hypothetical match.
Furthermore, EJ talked about working alongside Savio Vega at MLW. Savio is one of the veteran producers at MLW and recently, EJ got to experience what it was like to work with Savio inside of War Chamber.
EJ put over the knowledge of Vega and talked about what it was like to have Savio Vega as a surprise entrant inside of the War Chamber match recently, noting that he wasn't aware that Savio would be in the match until that day.
“Incredible, incredible mind. Savio has an incredible, incredible mind. I mean, a lot of people don't know this, but he produces a lot of the matches in MLW, so we bounce ideas off of him, and it's never ‘No,’ it's always, you know, ‘How can we make this better? How can we do this?’ So you know, just to have that in your corner is phenomenal.”
He continued, “I'm used to things being sometimes overproduced like, ‘We want you to do this, do that, do this.’ But then in MLW, you've got a picture — you’ve got a blank canvas and it's like, okay, how do we want to paint this picture? How do we want to illustrate this? What story do we want to tell? So you know, we're able to do that and that's what makes it so much fun.”
Going back to Savio, EJ said he did not know that Savio would actually be working alongside them in the match until the day of the show, an exciting moment for the emerging performer.
“He's been with me since day one since I've been at MLW, producing the matches, but I did not know that he was going to be in the match, honestly, till that day, the guest wrestler that was in our match, I did not know Savio was our guest, literally till maybe two hours before the show.
“He's been incredible. I mean, just to have him, growing up watching Savio on TV, and then I'm like, standing right next to him. You know, he's just being tremendous.”
