The finish saw Desperado hits a super pinche loco followed by another pinche loco for the victory.

Despite the cage around ringside, members of HOUSE OF TORTURE tried to get involved, but they were cut off by members of the New Japan roster including Toru Yano, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Oleg Boltin, and Satoshi Kojima.

After the bout, Desperado named DOUKI as the next challenger for the title.

This was the first singles steel cage match in NJPW since NJPW King Of Sports on March 28, 2004 when Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Kazunari Murakami.

El Desperado earned his title shot by winning Best of the Super Juniors 2024.

This marks the fourth reign as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion for El Desperado. SHO held the title for 114 days and made two successful title defenses.
