Elias feels he would bring a cool and fun edge to the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Elias has made it to the semifinals of the WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament taking place on Friday Night SmackDown. He will take on AJ Styles on the May 29 edition of WWE’s blue brand of television.

Speaking with Fox 28, Elias spoke about how he feels he will gel with AJ Styles in the squared circle and what he thinks he can bring to WWE's prestigious workhorse championship.
“I feel like Elias would represent that championship in such a fun and cool way. It would mean the world to me to win that and start making my way up the ranks,” said Elias, speaking in the third person. "I feel like Elias thrives in these situations when I get with these guys who are really great wrestlers."
