Enes Kanter wants to seriously pursue a career in the sports-entertainment company once his days in the NBA are over.

Center for the Portland Trailblazers and WWE fan Enes Kanter has thrown the idea out there of him possibly joining WWE on a number of occasions. When Kanter played for the New York Knicks, he was a regular at WWE events when the company ran venues in New York and at the age of 26-years old and currently in his eighth year in the NBA, Kanter is discussing what life after basketball will be like for him.

The Switzerland native was interviewed by 'Hoops Rumors' and during the conversation, Kanter was asked how serious is he about a career in WWE. Kanter, who is a close friend to Paul Heyman, mentioned how he has had discussions with Heyman about a possible future in the company and wants to set up a meeting with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to sort things out.

“Paul Heyman [is who he's been in contact with], some of the wrestlers. I’m actually trying to meet with Vince McMahon." Kanter shared. "I’ll just say it was my hobby in college because I didn’t get to play [basketball] in college, and so I said I’ll just do it after my basketball career. I’m very serious about it.”

Kanter said that he recently watched an episode of RAW and stated that he wants to open up another avenue in sports and for him, that could be WWE.

“Actually, I was just watching RAW on Monday night. I’m very serious about it. I feel like it’s my world. You just get to go out there, talk trash, troll people." He continued, "Lifting, I love lifting. It’s just fun man. I don’t want to stop my sports career when I’m done with basketball. A lot of people go into broadcasting, coaching, but I want to continue opening the door in sports. That’s why I’m very serious about it. I’m already in contact with some of the people from the WWE.”

This past December, Enes Kanter stepped into a wrestling ring and pinned Curt Hawkins at Hawkins' wrestling school, and to check out the full interview with the 6'11 big man, click here.
