Eric Bischoff: With The Right Television Partner, TNA Can Be Number Two By This Time Next Year

TNA Wrestling is coming off its biggest announced North American attendance of all time with TNA Slammiversary bringing in over 7,000 people to the UBS Arena.

Eric Bischoff believes TNA is making all the right moves and, with a new television deal, could position itself as the number two promotion within a year.

“They are one deal away from being a major player. If they get a broadcast partner. If they get the right broadcast situation…they have the product. They know what they’re doing. Good team of people. They just need a bigger platform. If they get it, watch them take off,” Bischoff told Ariel Helwani on the Ariel Helwani Show.

Bischoff noted that he wrote TNA Wrestling off a long time ago.

Asked if TNA could potentially be the number two promotion, Bischoff replied, “By this time next year. Depends on the TV deal. With the right television partner. What’s number two? By what measure do you define number two? In terms of television ratings and popularity, they could be number two in a minute.”

AEW did around 30,000 fans for AEW All In a week before TNA Slammiversary. TNA iMPACT! currently airs on AXS TV and TNA+, though TNA President Carlos Silva has teased a potential new deal.

Bischoff is currently promoting Real American Freestyle, which is set to hold its first event in Cleveland on August 30th.
