Eric Bischoff: You Can Plug Shelton Benjamin Into Any Scenario And He'll Over-Deliver

Eric Bischoff comments on the release of WWE veteran Shelton Benjamin.

Shelton Benjamin's time in WWE ended when he was released by the promotion on September 21, 2023. Eric Bischoff, who spent time with Benjamin during Benjamin's first run with the company in the mid-2000s, commented on Benjamin's release during a recent episode of the Strictly Business podcast.

Bischoff praised Benjamin for his likability backstage and his ability between the ropes.

“He’s genuinely one of the nicest, most professional, talented, and gifted people I’ve ever worked with. That one surprises me because Shelton is one of those guys, you can put him up on the shelf and you can just keep him there in inventory, take him out and plug him into any scenario you felt he needed at that moment, and he would overdeliver. He’s such a great performer, such a pro. He and [Dolph Ziggler], they are the ultimate professional wrestling utility players because they can do it all,” he said.
