Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Eric Young reveals that his current employer, Scott D'Amore, was the second person to reach out to him after his WWE release. Trailing behind the mastermind of NXT, Triple H.

“I can tell you now Scott D’Amore was the second person I heard from when the news came out. This is going to sound weird, but Triple H was the very first. He was unaware that it was happening. He’s in a different position in the company now. [We] have always had a very good relationship. The original plan after WrestleMania was for me to go back to NXT,” reveals Young.“We had been talking a lot about ideas and what might happen. When they said they were going to release talent, I knew for sure I was going to be on that list. It’s nothing personal. I don’t take it personally. I’m not bitter in any way. One person made a massive mistake. I’m not the first person he made a mistake on and I won’t be the last.”

Eric Young came back to IMPACT Wrestling in the main event of this year's Slammiversary pay-per-view but came up short in the main event championship match which was won by Eddie Edwards.
