Ethan Page Def. Santino Marella To Retain North American Championship On 7/29 WWE NXT

Page’s reign continues.

Headlining the July 29th installment of NXT on The CW was an NXT North American Championship bout. The champion, Ethan Page, put his title on the line against TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella.

Marella showed up at NXT in Houston and confronted Page after Page revealed his Canadian-themed version of the North American Title. Marella hails from Canada and stated that Page does not represent all Canadians in response to the comments he was making.

It was Marella’s first singles match in WWE since 2014.

The conclusion of the bout saw Marella lining up Page for ‘The Cobra Strike,’ but Page placed the referee in front of him. When the referee turned his back, Page poked Marella in the eye, and the referee did not see it. He went to defeat Marella to retain the belt in his fourth defense of this current reign.
