WWN Live issued the following, announcing a tryout and seminar:
September 18th: WWN will present a very special Seminar/Tryout this Friday in Livonia, MI with special guest NXT Coach Norman Smiley. There will be wrestlers from this Seminar/Tryout booked in EVOLVE and NXT (anyone selected must complete all documents in the correct manner. Additionally, a background check may be administered)! That’s right, this is the biggest opportunity ever for male and female wrestlers, referees and managers. Go to the WWNLive.com Seminar/Tryout section for more info. We asked WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque his thoughts on this NXT opportunity and learning experience from NXT Coach Norman Smiley:

September 18th: The WWN Family, particularly the EVOLVE brand, embrace being involved in this pipeline to WWE/NXT. It is our goal to find new talent, give established talent a platform to grow and put them in a compelling pro wrestling environment. Fans of EVOLVE will be on the journey with these wrestlers as they become stars. We’ve seen it with the likes of Johnny Gargano and Matt Riddle. Now we are witnessing it with the likes of Keith Lee, Austin Theory, Priscilla Kelly and Darby Allin to name a few. This only scratches the surface of talent rising in EVOLVE. It is our goal now to introduce new wrestlers and give them an opportunity to grow in The WWN Family. Get in on the ground floor now.
September 18th: We have some unfortunate news. Davey Richards informed us over the weekend that he suffered a serious knee injury. Richards has canceled all his dates for 2017, including this weekend. We are very sorry that Davey has to go through this injury. We wish him a speedy recovery. He is just as disappointed as all of us. EVOLVE officials are now working on a suitable replacement or reshuffling the cards to make them even better. We greatly value the fans of Detroit and Chicago supporting us with their valuable and hard earned leisure time and money. Both Detroit and Chicago are high priority markets for EVOLVE. We will make this Friday in Livonia, MI and Saturday in Summit, IL memorable and fun EVOLVE events. Thank you for your support.
