Smackdown Live was working a little bit short handed this weekend.
Top star and Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch wasn't on this weekend's Smackdown Live events, which prompted online speculation about her status physically. Fightful Select has been told that Lynch is healthy, despite her storyline knee injury that has been featured on television recently. We were not told whether or not she was held off events to further that storyline. As one would expect, her schedule is going to pick up heavily heading into WrestleMania.
We've also heard that Mustafa Ali has been working through a tailbone injury. He was said to have healed up a couple of weeks ago, but likely re-aggravated it during the Royal Rumble match. It's looking like he is going to be fine, and isn't at any risk of missing his WWE Title match at Elimination Chamber. He's received high praise from those we've spoken to.
Also noted on Fightful Select earlier this afternoon is that there has been a sense of positivity among wrestlers that we've spoken to about the creative aspects of Smackdown. One wrestler went as far as to say that while some certainly aren't happy with their lack of TV time, "there's a reason why people on Smackdown aren't asking out of their deals."
