Act Yasukawa Explains Why She Returned To Pro Wrestling Through Actwres girl'Z

Act Yasukawa began her career back in 2012 as part of STARDOM and proved to be an important wrestler in the promotion's history as she'd go on to hold the Wonder of Stardom Championship twice in her tenure as well as the Artist of Stardom Championship alongside high-speed legend Natsuki Taiyo and Saki Kashima.

After retiring in 2015, Yasukawa would return to pro wrestling in 2021 as part of the Joshi promotion, Actwres girl'Z. For those who don't know, the promotion is dedicated to helping turn actresses and idols into wrestlers with a number of them going on to become full-time wrestlers in the process. The likes of Natsupoi and Tam Nakano got their careers started in the promotion.

Since her return to wrestling, Yasukawa has helped lead Actwres girl'Z to an exciting level where international fans are becoming fascinated with the new crop of wrestlers that have debuted since the promotion relaunched at the start of 2022. She currently leads the faction Beastz Rebellion.

Yasukawa continues to jump back into pro wrestling as she will be traveling to the United States for the first time to take part in WrestleCon as well as compete in Pandemonium: Pro Wrestling and Relentless Wrestling!

Ahead of her arrival to the U.S., Fightful's Scott Edwards had the chance to interview the Actwres girl'Z star and discuss a number of topics including why she decided to return to pro wrestling after all this time and why Actwres girl'Z was the spot to do it.

Via translator Derek Kolterman, Yasukawa explained that when she planned to return to pro wrestling, her plan was to simply be a coach and help teach.

“When I decided to come back (to wrestling), I intended to find my way to help coach, teach, and raise the next generation of wrestlers,” Yasukawa said, via a translator. “I planned to just be a coach or a trainer.”

Yasukawa continued in the interview by saying when she saw how much talent there was in Actwres girl’Z, she realized she could help them step up their game by returning to her villainous character that we saw in STARDOM a decade ago.

“Why don’t I put up that wall and be that bad guy again and give them that opportunity to really bring out their best in fighting against me,” Yasukawa said.

Later in the interview, Yasukawa also named Kouki as a wrestler to look out for when it comes to wrestlers making a splash in Actwres girl'Z right now.
