WWE's recent set of tryouts featured two names that stood out the wrestling fans perhaps a little more than others.
Chelsea Green and Robbie E were both present at the tryouts, and Fightful.com was able to learn a little about their experiences there. The longtime Impact Wrestling and TNA stars both left the company earlier this year, and Fightful was told before Chelsea's departure that WWE had interest in bringing her in.
In the case of both Robbie and Chelsea there are parallels in that they performed well at the tryout and have a lot of backing within WWE to sign them. Robbie has worked with over a dozen names on the WWE roster, many of whom spoke very highly of him to officials. Chelsea dates WWE Superstar Zack Ryder, who has been with the company for over a decade.
Robbie used the opportunity to show off his "Robert Strauss" gimmick, which he's been portraying during his time in House of Hardcore -- which is a brand influencer with a sick twist. Chelsea Green would also have the benefit of being able to use her "Laurel Van Ness" gimmick in WWE if they so chose, as Impact now allows that.
