Bobby Lashley Wanted More MMA Elements To WWE Character, According To Dan Lambert

Bobby Lashley spent over a decade away from WWE before finally returning in 2018, but he didn't bring over much of the MMA influence that took up that ten years.

According to American Top Team owner Dan Lambert, if Lashley had his way, that wouldn't be the case. When Fightful.com's James Lynch spoke to Lambert, the former Impact Wrestling performer joked about how he stacked up as a manger compared to Lio Rush.

"Oh jeez! I certainly can't jump around and do all the flips Lio Rush can do, so I'll give him that! I like the MMA angle that we did in Impact. Obviously I'm biased. I know Bobby was trying to hope to give that a run in WWE but I don't know if there's any interest in that or not. It'd be a lot of fun if we ever got that opportunity," said Lambert.

As far as things that are actually happening in WWE, Lambert also opened up about the direction of WrestleMania. Lambert mentioned that he thought one storyline in particular cooled off, but he's still looking forward to the show.

"I loved the Becky Lynch storyline when she won the Royal Rumble. The people were getting behind her. The last couple of weeks it's kind of lost a little bit of steam for me. I didn't like her backdooring her way into the match through the disqualification. I'd have liked to have seen a really good match and her win her way into it. I like the push that Kofi Kingston's getting. I'd like to see him get his shot. I liked it because it wasn't organic and pushed down people's throat. I like Randy Orton and AJ Styles. It should be a pretty good 'Mania,'" said Lambert.
