Brian Myers: I Thought IMPACT Digital Media Title Was A Joke, I Wanted To Make It Important

Brian Myers says he wanted to bring value to the IMPACT Digital Media Championship.

At the Against All Odds show in July 2022, Brian Myers captured the IMPACT Digital Media Championship for the first time in his career, defeating Rich Swann to win the belt.

Myers went on to hold the belt until November, where he lost it to Joe Hendry on an episode of IMPACT on AXS TV. Throughout his reign, Myers defended the title against the likes of Dirty Dango and Frankie Kazarian.

While speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds, Myers said that he wanted to bring value to the title because at the time, he thought the belt was meaningless.

"They don’t like me saying this, but I thought, at the time I got the belt, I thought it was a joke, a laughing stock of a title and had no real meaning or presence to it or anything. I took the mentality of, ‘You know what, I’m going to make this the most important belt on the show and take it to the extreme.’ I felt I did my damndest to do that with my performances and the way I carry myself and taking it to other shows and things like that. I felt like I really brought the title up from where it was, which was kind of a laughing stock. Ultimately, I’m going to be very proud of that because I felt like I did that. It’s something I’m going to be forever proud of."

Elsewhere in the interview, Myers said that TNA is better when Will Ospreay is around. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
