Bushwhacker Butch Says Luke Saved Him From The Brink Of Death

The Bushwhackers have reunited after almost 20 years apart.

Besides a couple of appearances and their WWE Hall of Fame induction, the two hadn't been together in years. When things clear up in the world, they'll be taking signings again. As they told Fightful, we almost lost Butch for good at one point.

Taro Okada Explains Why He Felt Stardom Had To Dismiss Rossy Ogawa

Luke:

"New Zealand, yes. Now is the time. We feel that’s right now. Butch is ready. I had a few personal things and a few personal problems. But, I know this is the wrong year ‘cause of this corona virus. But, we’re hoping to start hitting the road in April / May this year and then going through, right through next year to ’22."

Butch:

"I, myself, Sean, I got, just before 9/11, I got septicemia and didn’t know it, but I felt myself getting sick. So, when our flights were cancelled, we’re due to go on the road. Then I got worse and worse, Luke went on the road, I said, ‘Mate, I can’t go.’ He was very worried about me. Kept ringing. In the end he couldn’t get me. I was living by myself. He couldn’t get me and he was so worried that he got on a plane and flew back to Tampa, Florida. I’m not too sure where he was, he’ll tell you, and luckily he knocked on the door. No answer. He came crashing through my door and I was close to death on the bed, blowin’ up like a big balloon. Laying there, I could not move. I hadn’t moved for days and he called the ambulance.

To cut a long story short, they lost me a couple of times in the ambulance. They brought me back to the hospital, lost me there. So, it took me quite a few years to get back to on my feet. Many years. Then they took me back into the shearing shed, gave me some new joints, gave me some new bits and pieces, gave me a lube, gave me an oil change, cleaned me up a little bit and then they opened the doors and they said, ‘Go get ‘em.’ So, I walked out those shearing shed doors, Sean, arms a-swingin’, legs a-movin’, doing a ‘Whoa!’ and a ‘Yay! and I knew I was ready to carry on doing some serious whacking. That’s what’s happened. We are about to get [whacky.] Whether it’s Sheepherder style, Bushwhacker style, Bushherder style, Sheepwhacker style. It doesn’t matter. We are ready."
