Chelsea Green Remembers When She Did The Unprettier Backwards, Why She Didn’t Keep Using It

Chelsea Green relives the botched finisher she hit in her NXT debut.

Chelsea Green appeared for the first time on NXT television in an official match on February 19, 2020, against Kayden Carter. She was able to win the match but she used a botched Unprettier to do it.

That would wind up being one of her only WWE matches on television as she would have several start-and-stop pushes on the main roster and ultimately, end up being released by WWE on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

Reflecting on this botched finisher in a conversation with Sean Ross Sapp, Chelsea tells Gail Kim, who was hanging around the interview, that she was extremely nervous and that yes, it was considered having her do the move that way moving forward but ultimately, because of complaints about neck pain, it was decided she did not need to fix the wheel.

"Yeah, I actually did until the next day the girl was like, ‘My neck hurts.’ I was like, ‘Damnit,'" said Chelsea. “Yeah. We debated it [using the move]. We actually spoke about it at NXT. Then I also was like, ‘Why change something that’s not broken? So don’t fix it.’ I love a good Unprettier.”

Chelsea shared more details on that fateful day and the box that would see her pick up her first win on NXT TV on an earlier episode of her podcast, Green With Envy. Read more here.
