Colby Covington Calls Out WWE's Becky Lynch, Conor McGregor For Tag Match Against He & Ronda Rousey At Croke Park

Colby Covington has his sights set on the UFC Welterweight Title, even though he got passed over for it, but that doesn't mean he doesn't already have WWE superfights in mind.

Covington, who appeared on Impact Wrestling programming in 2017, spoke to Fightful.com recently about a number of topics, including his love of pro wrestling. The subject of one of wrestling's hottest stars in Becky Lynch was brought up, and while Covington admired how good she was for wrestling, he criticized her for being chummy with UFC star Conor McGregor.

"It's awesome. It's good for wrestling. It's pretty crazy she was trying to call up that coked up leprechaun Conor McGregor as a tag team partner. I think Ronda Rousey needs to call up the Great American Winning Machine Colby "Chaos" Covington and we need to have a little tag team match. Ronda Rousey & Colby Covington vs. Becky Lynch & Conor McGregor. Do it in Croke Park," said Covington.

MMA is the focus right now for the (former?) Interim UFC Welterweight Champion, but as he's mentioned in the past, Covington won't rule out a wrestling career after that. When talking to Fightful's James Lynch, he seemed to have a path in mind already.

"If anything, I'll go hit up the independent circuit, build my name bigger than it already it, get a couple of experiments down and then go to the WWE. It's a good thing I have my buddy Bobby Lashley there, and Dan Lambert -- the greatest manager to ever walk this earth -- has good talks with WWE. We'll see how the cards fall. I'm very focused on my MMA journey right now, but hopefully we'll see myself in WWE in a couple years," said Covington.
