Details Behind Gran Metalik Not Wanting To Lose On Recent AEW Rampage

Fightful Select has learned more details on a match being scrapped for the October 27 episode of AEW Rampage.

The Wrestling Observer reported that a planned match between Metalik and Komander was planned for AEW Rampage on October 27, but was scrapped due to Metalik reportedly refusing to lose. The show aired with only three matches, which was the original plan, as it was clarified to us there was never a plan to run four matches.

Fightful Select was told that the original plan was a four-way match involving Lince Dorado, Penta El Zero Miedo, Komander, and Metalik, but became a three-way due to Lince’s ties to CMLL.

Metalik was planned to lose the three-way, but didn’t want to continue to lose matches without being under a full-time deal.

AEW indicated that they understood his position, and booked Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kyle Fletcher instead.
