Exclusive: Alicia Atout Reveals How Her MLW Deal Came Together, Trashes RJ City

Alicia Atout -- as seen on All In, Double Or Nothing, IMPACT, MLW, and virtually everywhere else.

The most recent of those is Major League Wrestling. In late 2019, Atout revealed that she'd come to terms with MLW to do backstage interviewing -- a natural move for "The Interview Queen." When Fightful spoke with Alicia, she revealed how easily the deal came together.

"They pretty much reached out to me, saying “Hey, we like what you do. We’d like to have you onboard.” After a bit of discussion it seemed like a great fit. I already love the locker room. I have so many friends there. Management seemed to be absolutely wonderful. Everyone’s hard working. So, I’m excited to be the newest member of the family," said Atout.

MLW's interesting taping schedule means that Atout doesn't have to travel quite as much, but it still keeps her on-screen consistently. She admitted that the move to MLW and their way of doing things was an adjustment, but one she's gladly embraced.

"So typically they have a day where they’ll tape usually its four weeks worth of things in one day and then a pre-tape day. Which is totally different. It’s a new format that I’m not used to, I think it’s kinda cool. ‘Cause you can kind take things easy. It’s not all rushed, which sometimes that’s not the most fun thing to deal with. So, I’m excited about that. As far as conventions and other shows and bookings go I can still do as I please which is exciting as well. So, I get to make their stuff a priority ‘cause I really want to show them they made a good choice bringing me on. The fans have been welcoming already," she said.

The new gig has Atout working throughout the United States. That's nothing new for her, but during her previous work with IMPACT Wrestling, she was close to her Canadian home.

"(For Impact) I (only) did it whenever they came through Canada. So, that was about, I think four, five months I was doing their TV. Then once that was done, I did a little bit of that Twitch show with Anthony Carelli and then the AEW stuff came around. The timing of everything just kinda made sense. I think it’s super cool being able to come here and go to different states. For me it’s just great for the food alone. America, the food is so much better here, the shopping’s better—sorry, Canada. Your poutine’s great. It’s just a little bit different. I don’t even think it’s the people, it’s just the vibe, the atmosphere. Being Canadian, you’re so used to your surroundings, so whenever I get to road trip from state to state, it’s just fun for me. So, those are the differences. But, the exchange rate, like [Ethan Page] is so right on that, yup," said Atout.

Never one to pass on an opportunity to trash the eccentric RJ City, Fightful gave the much kinder Alicia the floor to air her grievances about her fellow Canadian

"Let’s just exchange—what’s up with the hair? I don’t get it. The other thing that I’m trying to understand with R.J. [City] is why is he always tearing people down? It’s not cool. He’s a douche. You’re a jerk. Just heading back to the hair—it’s the headbands that drive me crazy. I think luscious hair is fantastic. I mean, look at us two. It’s great. Get rid of the hair bands. It bugs me. I kinda wanna throw it at him," Alicia said.
