EXCLUSIVE: EC3 On Impact Wrestling-Global Force Wrestling Partnership

Ethan Carter III is in favor of the partnership that Impact Wrestling and Global Force Wrestling have created, mainly for the opportunity to get to compete for more titles.

EC3 talked to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and said that he likes the idea of both companies working together under one roof and that they should be together. After all, more promotions having partnerships would bring more title opportunities, according to EC3.

“Yeah when I become world champion, I get more titles, so that’s cool,” EC3 said. “I get more titles to hang on my wall. I like carrying things in my bag. If [GFW] are there, then we might as well put them together. What’s the point of having them being separate [if they’re having a partnership]?”

Jeff Jarrett, who returned to Impact Wrestling earlier this year, also runs GFW and had been trying to get the two promotions to merge.

That partnership will soon result in the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight and GFW Global Championship being unified at the upcoming Slammiversary show, which will be taking place on July 2. Bobby Lashley and Alberto El Patron will compete for those titles at Slammiversary. Aside from the heavyweight titles being unified at the show, the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship and GFW Women's Championship will also be unified.

EC3, a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, will also compete at Slammiversary, where he will take on James Storm in a strap match.
