Exclusive: MJF Takes Credit For The Success Of Professional Wrestling

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is not short on confidence.

The current MLW World Middleweight Champion spoke to Fightful about the rise of MLW and why he deserves all the credit.

Six-Man Tag, Mixed Tag, X-Division Title Bout, More Announced For TNA Under Siege

"Here's the thing, Major League Wrestling -- just like MJF, which is why it makes sense that I'm the face of the company -- has rose in such a record time.

"We had, maybe three shows, before we were picked up as a TV product. That's incredibly unheard of and there's a reason for that. It's because the talent in Major League Wrestling is absolutely insane. It's because the storytelling in Major League Wrestling is absolutely insane. It's because what we do, is in fact, Major League. Was a lot of our talent -- including a certain somebody who's better than most -- told that WWE had interest in them? Yes, absolutely.

Major League Wrestling rebooted as a full-time promotion earlier this year, debuting a weekly television show on beIN Sports in April.

MJF isn't looking ahead to WWE just yet, instead focusing on his duties as the face of MLW. And if you thought MJF taking credit for where MLW is at right now, was bad. He didn't stop there. According to the man himself, he deserves full credit for just how well wrestling as a whole is doing.

"The reason (wresting is doing so well) is because I -- I have chosen to be a professional wrestler, which has only risen the stock of pro wrestling as a whole. "

MJF will be part of All In on Saturday, Sept. 1. The show sold out in 30 minutes and while we all thought Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks had a big hand in that. We were wrong. MJF deserves 100 percent credit for the gate.
