Exclusive: Ronda Rousey's Surgery Set For This Week

News has emerged via Fightful Select about Ronda Rousey and her dealings with WWE.

Fightful Select has learned that former WWE RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey was backstage at this past Monday's RAW at the Barclays Center but was not used on TV because of her planned time off from the sports-entertainment company and due to her nursing the broken hand she suffered at WrestleMania 35.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp has also learned that Rousey is set to undergo surgery early this week. WWE officials are hopeful that the UFC Hall Of Famer returns to the company either later this year or next year but Rousey has given WWE no clear indication of her next move. We're told that she does have media obligations that could delay the surgery.

Ronda Rousey took the pin-fall in the main event of this year's WrestleMania. The conclusion of the match saw Becky Lynch outlast both Rousey and Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Live and RAW Women's Titles but the finish came with controversy as Becky Lynch transitioned Rousey's "Piper's Pit" finisher into a crucifix bomb with a follow-up pin and the referee began the count before Rousey's shoulders were on the mat.

In Ronda Rousey's latest 'Ronda On The Road' video, her WrestleMania weekend was documented along with the aftermath of WrestleMania 35 and to watch that video, head over to Fightful's "videos" section.
