EXCLUSIVE: SCU Want A "SCU Rule" Where They Never Lose The Tag Team Titles

SCU chats with Fightful.

As the first AEW Tag Team Champions, there is pressure on Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian (SCU) to lead what many believe is the best division in all of wrestling. But it's pressure welcome by two longtime veterans of the sport.

"It's an honor. I think the AEW tag team division is the most stacked division in all of pro wrestling. AEW puts a lot of emphasis on tag team wrestling. To be at the top is unbelievable," Scorpio Sky told Fightful at Starrcast.

With Christopher Daniels returning to rejoin the trio at AEW Full Gear, many have wondered if SCU will institute a Freebird Rule where any of the three members can defend the titles. New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods) used this rule during their 2018 SmackDown Tag Team Title run.

"It baffles me," said Kazarian when asked about a potential Freebird Rule. "We're not the Freebirds. We never claim to be the Freebirds. We're a team of three and two of us happen to win the titles. The Freebird Rule isn't a thing and hasn't been a thing for a long time. When Christopher Daniels comes back, he's going to be winning titles too. If you wanna call it the SCU rule, we're all gonna be champions eventually."

Sky added, "If we created an SCU rule, it would just be we get to keep the belts forever. And that's the rule. We're going to be champions 20 years after we're retired. That's the rule."

Along with being the first-ever AEW Tag Team Champions, SCU scored a big victory over Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara on the Nov. 13 episode of AEW Dynamite when Sky became the first man in AEW to pin Jericho.
