Exclusive: Sonny Kiss Discusses Working With Dustin Rhodes And Love Of Limp Bizkit

Sonny Kiss hasn't had much screen time on AEW Dynamite, but he's already made the most of his television time in the promotion. Kiss made his AEW debut singles debut at AEW Fight For The Fallen, picking up a victory over Peter Avalon.

While Kiss' in-ring performance was impressive, it was his entrance, which featured Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders and dance choreography, that had everyone talking.

"I choreographed the routine. I was like, 'I have a dance background. Please let me do this. It's my debut singles match.' It got approved like four days ahead so I had to choreograph it. The girls got there, they were professional about it and they killed it. It was an amazing night," Kiss told Fightful.

Since making his debut, Kiss has teamed with Dustin Rhodes on AEW Dark and has been in the ring with Billy Gunn on AEW Dynamite. Kiss has drawn comparisons to both Rhodes and Gunn as each man has a flamboyance to them, not unlike Kiss.

"Iconic," Kiss said when asked about teaming with Rhodes. "It was a dream come true. I've learned a lot from him and Billy Gunn, those are my mentors. It's an honor."

At a 3-2-1 BATTLE! event in June, Kiss and Aubrey Edwards engaged in a dance battle to “Rhythm is Gonna Get You” by Gloria Estefan. With Kiss' dance background, "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" makes sense as a song to bust a move to. But when he's not dancing, Kiss prefers to listen to a different kind of music.

When asked what his favorite band is, Kiss said, "Limp Bizkit. I'm a huge Limp Bizkit fan. I'm obsessed with them. I worship Fred Durst. I would say The One (as my favorite song). It's very simple but [underrated]. It's very smooth, melodic. I think Fred's vocals are underrated. He really showcased a more vulnerable side. He's an incredible human being and I would love to possibly hug him one day. I secretly wanted to date him because I was always into the bad boys."

As far as which album he prefers between "Significant Other" and "Chocolate Starfish & The Hot Dog Flavored Water," Kiss went with the latter, proclaiming it to be "the more iconic album."

Fans last saw Kiss on the ninth episode of AEW Dark when he was defeated by Shawn Spears. Fans can follow Sonny Kiss on Twitter @SonnyKissXO.
