The Good Brothers, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, talk about returning to NJPW, being booked for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, and wanting to return to TNA wrestling and All Elite Wrestling.
Before returning to WWE in 2022, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson were not shy about making towns for multiple promotions. They frequently appeared on AEW programming, held the TNA Wrestling World Tag Team Championship, and continued wreaking havoc in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
During a recent interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Gallows and Anderson were asked about their interest in a potential return to either TNA or AEW. Both are very into the idea, with Karl Anderson's a simple response being, "Yes."
Doc Gallows expanded more on his desire to see the Good Brothers go back to TNA or AEW, noting that they have great relationships with both companies. However, he does note that they wanted New Japan to be the first stop on their resurrection tour.
"Yeah, we’re an open book, and we have good relationships in both places. We wanted to be in New Japan first. We wanted to come here and do that. The book is open. Like we’ve told you many times in many years, there are a lot of conversations going on behind closed doors. We’ll see where it goes," said Gallows.
Fightful Select reported on May 8 that the Good Brothers are headed to NJPW. They will team with the Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) to take on the War Dogs (Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, Clark Connors, and Gedo) at NJPW Resurgence on May 9.
Then, on May 10, the War Dogs duo of David Finlay and Drilla Maloney will take on the Good Brothers at MLP Northern Rising.
The War Dogs are an offshoot of the present-day Bullet Club, a faction to which Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows' careers are intrinsically tied. Sean Ross Sapp asked Gallows and Anderson about the serendipitous nature of a Bullet Club-centric storyline being the launching pad for their return to NJPW and MLP debuts. Gallows spoke about their excitement while Anderson talked about adjusting to not having to travel as much, and being ready to continue in the industry until the wheels fall off.
"It just lined up so good. It was a can’t-miss and had to be done," said Gallows. "When you looked at when the 90 days were up and we’re free, and you see the next day is a New Japan pay-per-view in Los Angeles, a Good Brother town, the stars lined up perfectly, so you have to jump all over that. Scott D’Amore, we’ve had a great relationship for years, and he came in with the Maple Leaf Pro booking. What’s been the hardest for us has been building our schedule because the booking email is packed full. We have to go, ‘Hold on one second. We can’t commit to all that just yet.’ We’re almost overcommitted now, which is a beautiful thing, because we wanted to hit the ground running. We miss traveling, working, and doing all that. Here we fucking go."
Anderson adds, "I’ve been home now for seven months and I’ve never been home that much my entire life. We’ve both had babies in the last year. Having a baby, being a sober brother, I have this newfound love for not having to travel. Now that I have started getting all these calls for all we have to do, here we go. We’re going to run this until the wheels fall off."
Fightful will have coverage of NJPW Resurgence on May 9.
