Matt Cardona Talks Passion, Perfectionism Behind His Major Wrestling Figure Line, Teases New Series

Matt Cardona talks about producing his own line of wrestling action figures.

Matt Cardona loves performing in professional wrestling, but he also takes pride in his wrestling figure collection, which has led him and Brian Myers to create their own line of wrestling action figures. Over the years, Major has released variants of several popular WWE action figure lines, including Big Rubber Guys, inspired by the original LJN Wrestling Superstars line, and Major Bendies, inspired by the JusToys Bend 'Em WWE action figures from the '90s.

Cardona recently spoke with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp at the Squared Circle Expo. During the discussion, Cardona explained that sometimes, he delays the release of figures because he wants things to be perfect. Not only because he is a collector himself, but also because he is someone who analyzes figures and sometimes has to point out imperfections.

He also teased an upcoming line called Major Stars.

"That's why some things get delayed, because I want it to be perfect. Because not only am I a collector, I'm a host of a podcast, where I guess my job is to analyze these things. I can't be critiquing Jazwares or Mattel and then putting out subpar products. As a matter of fact, we have this new line called Major Stars coming soon, these little guys. We got the whole production run, and not a sample, the whole run came to the United States of America, and I wasn't happy with them, so we're gonna bury them like those E.T. Ataris and redo them, because I didn't want to put them out like that. Could we have? Absolutely. Would people have complained? I don't think they would have, but I would have known. So I couldn't do that."

Asked to pick a favorite release of his, he says it's too difficult to choose, so instead, he prefers to say that his favorite hasn't been released yet.

"We've probably made over a hundred different talents. So, we do, guys like Macho Man, Andre, Ric Flair, but then we do the indie guys, Mance Warner, EFFY, Joey Janela, Proudest one, man. Whew. Put me on the spot. Let's just say it hasn't come out yet."
