Itoh and Yamashita were able to secure a title match against Wasteland War Party after winning the Futari Wa Princess Max Heart Tournament back in February. In a new interview with Fightful, Yamashita said that although the team is happy they won the tournament, they both realize that winning the titles in the real goal.

"Finally, we managed to achieve the result as a tag team after so long for the two of us. We discussed after, it was not the goal. The tournament win is just halfway through the process. Winning the belts is the real goal at the end. We’re happy, but the story is not finished. Finish the story. The tag match with Maki Itoh, we’ve fought many times for the belt. We weren’t successful until now, but we won the tournament and with this momentum, we’re in it to win it."

Yamashita then went into detail about the Wasteland War Party, praising them for being able to defend the belts on numerous occasions in such a short time.

"Wasteland War Party (Heidi Howitzer & Max The Impaler) have managed to defend the belts quite a number of times during in this short span. They’re really big people. They have good stamina and they are a really strong team to go against. We don’t have a plan going into the match. We feel as we wrestle in the ring. If we find a solution, we’ll make it up on the spot. We’re not planning anything before the match. Once the bell rings, we’ll find a way."

Yamashita also expanded on her chemistry with Itoh, noting that it comes in a natural way.

"It’s a natural reaction because whether we’re opponents or partners, we have a similar style where we think on the spot in the ring. It’s a natural in-ring chemistry, our styles naturally compliment each other."
