Nitro Girl Chae: WCW Thunder Game Payoff Was Enough For A Car Down Payment

Everyone was in the WCW Thunder game. Everyone. We're talking WCW security guards. So it's no surprise that the popular WCW Nitro Girls made the cut as well.

The Playstation game wasn't well received, but sold like hotcakes, much like everything else pro wrestling. Nitro Girls Chae spoke with Fightful and was asked if she had to submit any photos or do any work to prepare for the THQ game.

"No, they came to us. It was kind of one of those like body imaging where you stood in the middle of this big tented-- some kind of a scanner that went around and probably measure it every square inch of our body and maybe [the] likeness of our faces. I don't know. But, yeah, that was exciting," Chae told us.

Chae wasn't added just for fun, after all, the game wasn't fun at all. It was terrible. But Chae is great, and fortunately she was handsomely rewarded for having an appearance in the game.

"Yeah. It's licensing, they're using your likeness. So, I have to tell you, you know what, I think we got like one big check at one point and I don't remember if we got any more after that, but it was a nice enough size where I actually used it to put a down payment on a new car," Chae told us.

Thunder ended up being one of the most poorly received video games in major wrestling company history, criticized for repetitive gameplay and redundant controls. In fact, the expansive roster that Chae was a part of was one of the only positively reviewed aspects of the game for most.

You can check out Chae's Ring Along system at this link, which is a multi-purpose & versatile storage options for bags. The Kickstarter is going until September 25 at this link.
