Rhio: Anita Vaughan Is A Phenomenal Talent, But She's Not Taking My Championship

Rhio calls Anita Vaughan a "phenomenal talent".

Earlier this year, Rhio and Anita Vaughan met in a couple of matches across Europe, with Rhio coming away the victor in these matchups. With Anita now moving to the UK full time, fans have wondered if Rhio and Vaughan will meet for the Progress Women's World Title in the future.

While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Rhio commented on Anita's arrival in the UK, noting that she is a phenomenal talent, but she won't be taking the Progress Women's World Title from her.

"I can see it coming already. But no, her and Debbie, I've always said, are more than welcome at Progress. Like, I've said time and time again, they need to be there. They deserve to be there. And they're two names that I think you could easily throw in a women's Super Strong Style 16. So yeah, like Anita now moving to the UK, I think she's going to give a lot of women a run for the money, and that includes me. So you can't deny the talent and the same with Debbie, like just phenomenal, but she's not taking my championship. Let's just clarify that. She's not having it."

Rhio is set to defend the Progress Women's World Title this weekend in the first ever ladder match for the championship. She is set to defend vs Kanji, Nina Samuels and Lizzy evo in the match.

In a recent interview with Fightful, Anita Vaughan addressed working with Rhio. You can read more about that here.
