Ridge Holland Shares That All Of His Lines In 'WrestleMania Goes Hollywood' Ad Were Improvised

Ridge Holland had a lot of fun filming his 'WrestleMania Goes Hollywood' ad.

Speaking with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (full interview above), Holland detailed his experience recreating the infamous chest waxing scene from The 40 Year Old Virgin. The Brawling Brute confirmed that he had seen the movie and is a big fan of Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.

"Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw it years ago. Huge fan of Steve Carell and what he does, and Paul Rudd. Huge fan," Holland said.

The SmackDown Superstar would go on to share that his call time was five hours earlier than all of the other guys so that he could have the hair applied to his chest. Unfortunately for Ridge, the process only took 45 minutes, leaving him to sit around in catering with nothing on but dad jeans and a wooly chest.

"That was the main thing, really. My call time was 7:30 am and the rest of the boys in the shoot were like 12:30. So I was told this hair would take upwards of three or four hours to put on. I got there, it took forty five minutes to put the hair on. Bear in mind there’s other things being shot, so I’m stood in the canteen or the catering area, no shirt on, horrible Steve Carell dad jeans and this wooly mammoth-esque chest. People are walking through the thing. I’m sat down. Obviously, I’m not that inconspicuous as it is and they’re looking at me like, ‘Who’s this hairy guy with terrible jeans on sat down in catering?," he said.

Holland would conclude by revealing that all of the lines he, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre delivered in the ad were improvised.

"What people won’t know is that shoot when we got to the nitty gritty in shooting that, everything was adlibbed. Everything that came out of my mouth was just off the cuff. The same for Sheamus and Drew. It was just good fun. It was nice to be able to go out there and not have any parameters and just let loose, really. It was one of the highlights of the year, to be honest. Good fun," he said.

On the June 16 episode of SmackDown, Holland and Sheamus will take part in a #1 Contender Tag Team Gauntlet. The winning team will earn a title match against the reigning champions, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

The upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown on June 16 will take place in Lexington, Kentucky, at the Rupp Arena. The following night, WWE will be doing a Supershow in Cincinatti, Ohio, at the Heritage Bank Center.

Fightful will have live coverage of SmackDown, as well as a post-show review immediately following its conclusion.
