Rocky Romero: I Want To Keep Growing NJPW STRONG In America And Maybe Other Cool Countries In 2024

Rocky Romero speaks about his involvement with NJPW STRONG and praises some of the breakout talent that have come through from the promotion.

Rocky Romero is the bridge between a lot of promotions. Most importantly, he's an integral part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and more specifically, the American branch of the promotion, NJPW STRONG.

Gunther: The Product Before Triple H Was Not What I Enjoyed, Triple H Always Had A Vision For Me

Speaking in a recent interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Romero spoke about how pleased he is with the growth of NJPW STRONG in the States and is hopeful that they can maybe go to even more countries in 2024

"I’ve been committed to the project since day one and I’m really happy with how it’s turned out. I’m most happy with and excited for all the great talent that has gotten opportunities and running New Japan STRONG in Japan was a bucket list goal and we’re going to do it again next year for sure. I just want to keep giving people opportunities when I can and keep growing the brand of New Japan STRONG in America and maybe other cool countries next year," said Romero.

Speaking about breakout talents to come through the brand, Romero praised Fred Rosser, formerly known as Darren Young and WWE, who completely reinvented himself in STRONG. Rocky also praised Tom Lawlor and the tag team of the West Coast Wrecking Crew as some of STRONG's best success stories as well.

"Fred Rosser and Tom Lawlor are the two biggest...West Coast Wrecking crew as well, the three biggest success stories to get integrated into the product and later get opportunities in Japan," Rocky said. "I hope that will continue and I would love to do another tour in Japan, but maybe two or three or even four shows if possible. The fans really loved it and the two shows we did at Korakuen were super successful when it comes to financials. There is a cool product and with Japan there is a hardcore fanbase for it that’s not just following New Japan. I think there’s a lot of potential there and I would love to keep seeing it grow."
