Roxanne Perez Says That She Wasn't Guaranteed To Be In WWE 2K23 After Doing Scans For The Game

Roxanne Perez wasn't certain that she would be included in WWE 2K23.

After just over a month of release, WWE 2K23 has become one of the most popular entries in the video game franchise. The game, which features a massive roster of current and past stars, received positive reviews from most outlets and has seemingly maintained a good world of mouth over several weeks.

WWE 2K23 features a sizable selection of playable NXT stars such as Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Zoey Stark, Cora Jade, and Wes Lee.

Another one of the stars featured in the game is former NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez. This is Perez's video game debut, as she joined WWE in the early stages of 2022.

In a new interview with Fightful, Perez revealed that she wasn't 100% sure if she was going to make it into the game, as she was told to take a wait and see approach while doing scans for the game.

"So, they did do scans. But they told us, ‘Hey, we don’t know for sure if you’re gonna be in the game, but just do a scan in case.’ So I was like, ‘Alright. Hopefully I’m in the game,’ and then I saw the announcement and I was like, ‘This is insane.’ I did a press conference and I was able to play the game as myself for the first time. I literally almost started crying because I was like, ‘This is insane to see myself in a WWE video game,’ games I used to play growing up as a kid nonstop. It’s insane."

Elsewhere in the interview, Perez discussed appearing in the 2023 Women's Royal Rumble match. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
