Sean Waltman Says He Has Never Played As Himself In A Video Game

Sean Waltman wishes he could get into gaming.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer recently spoke with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful about a number of topics, including video games. Waltman has appeared in titles for WWE and WCW dating back to 1994. Even though he has over 15 credits to his name, Waltman has never played as himself in any of the games.

"Apparently my character always was a really good character to play. I never played myself in a video game ever. Never. Not once. Nope.," he said.

A casual gamer when he was younger, Waltman says that he wishes he could get into it more as it would probably be good for his brain.

"When I was younger, I was a bit of a gamer. Not hardcore like people are. It was something to do. I wish I could get into it. My wife’s into it. She’s into it, big time. It would be good for my brain. It’s good for your brain, right? So it would behoove me to pick up gaming," he said.

Waltman then recalled getting a residual check for being in a WCW game (he appeared in WCW vs. nWo: World Tour and WCW Nitro) despite thinking his deal with the company was all encompasing.

"I was like, ‘What kind of money does that usually pay?’ I’m asking everybody that’s already been in video games. Then WCW, I was in their video game and man, I think I got like $40,000 check out of nowhere for it. I didn’t think I was gonna get merch checks from them. I thought my deal included everything. So when I got this extra $40,000, I was like, ‘Yeah,' he said.

Waltman concluded by saying that, "You can tell the ones that I was scanned in."

Elsewhere during the interview, Waltman recalled some memories from his time in the nWo. Click here to learn more.
