Several NJPW Wrestlers Disappointed They Weren't Conferred With Marty Scurll Being On Shows

The Marty Scurll plan backfired on New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Last month, it was revealed that NJPW had brought Scurll in for NJPW Strong tapings in January, with Emily Pratt of Fanbyte noting that he was to take part in an angle with Rocky Romero. After Fightful Select broke news of Scurll's attendance at the tapings, many NJPW wrestlers contacted us to say they weren't comfortable being a part of the show with Scurll on it, at least without them being conferred.

It was revealed by Super J-Cast that Marty Scurll will not be used on New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong tapings as originally planned. NJPW responded to the online response to the news of his involvement, but there were several members of the roster who weren't thrilled with his involvement either. Fightful heard from numerous people who worked the tapings that said if they would have been made aware of Scrull's involvement ahead of time, they would have made it clear that they didn't want to work at the tapings. Everything at the actual tapings was said to have been fine, and without incident.

NJPW has since nixed plans involving Scurll for the time being.
