Several WWE Callups From NXT Working Without New Contracts | Exclusive

Main roster call-ups don't always mean main roster money.

WWE has brought many new wrestlers up to WWE Raw and Smackdown since their move to Orlando in March, but as Fightful Select recently learned, that hasn't resulted in new contracts.

NWA Powerrr (4/23/24) Results: Kenzie Paige Defends, NWA US Tag Title Tournament Continues

As reported on Fightful Select:

Fightful has heard from multiple sources that several recent WWE call-ups have not received new contracts. Many of them are actually working lighter schedules than they were in NXT before the pandemic started. One source high up in WWE told us that the topic of extending the contracts or offering new ones will likely be broached when things "return to normal," though that's much easier said than done. WWE has no idea what their live event schedule will look like when that happens, or even if they'll have one outside of TV.

It should be noted that a lot of the wrestlers called up are not traveling, or having to expand road expenses as a result. Most that we've been in touch with have been understanding about WWE's move, though that's hardly representative of the entire roster.

We've heard that Angel Garza and others called up ahead of the pandemic may have been an exception to this rule, but his debut also happened shortly before the COVID-19 era in which slowed those new contracts down.
