Shinsuke Nakamura Wants AJ Styles At WrestleMania, AJ Says 'I'll Be Headlining WrestleMania After Tonight'

In a new interview with the Japanese Media, former NXT Champ Shinsuke Nakamura has made no bones about his plans for Wrestlemania.

He wants to face AJ Styles.

Grayson Waller And Austin Theory: Roman Reigns' Title Reign Won't Be Anything Close To Ours

"If the (WrestleMania) opportunity presented itself, I want to do it. AJ doesn't have an opponent yet. I'd like to fill that spot. I've achieved a lot this year, but there's much more to do. I want to make more strides over the next year and show my true ability."

Not so fast, says AJ Styles. He's flattered, but he still thinks he's gonna be booked that night.

AJ Styles is one of the ten men in the SmackDown Live #1 Contender's Battle Royal tonight, with the winner going on to face WWE Champion Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania.

If, for whatever reason, AJ doesn't win the Battle Royal tonight, he's been rumored to be facing Shane McMahon on April 2nd in Orlando.

But if that falls through, WWE could do a lot worse than a mid-card showcase match between AJ and Nakamura. They both came to WWE from New Japan in early 2016, and had a great farewell match for the ages at Wrestle Kingdom 10, the highlights of which you can watch at the top of the page.
