Silas Young Reveals How CM Punk Indie Run-In Happened | Exclusive

Silas Young has made quite a mark on Ring of Honor, but his MKE promotion made quite the mark on the internet last year when a masked man made a special appearance.

Last April, a masked intruder bearing a striking resemblance to CM Punk interfered in a match, cracking Daryck St. Holmes with Punk's signature Go 2 Sleep move. Young was seen filming the incident next to the door in which the man alleged to be Punk was standing.

He spoke to Fightful and revealed how it all came together.

"The building that happened in has had wrestling in it for 26 or 27 years and had got bought out. It was getting torn down. That was the building I think Punk had his first wrestling match. I had Dave Prazak and Ace Steel booked on the show who are good friends with Punk. My wife came up and said 'Punk's going to do a run-in-on the match, do you mind?' I said 'of course I don't mind.' This is ten minutes before the show, not something I booked. That's how it happened. I think it's because his buddies were booked on the show. Just a kind of circumstance and luck based on who I had booked that it worked out the way it did. I never saw Punk at the building. Can I 100 percent confirm it was him? No. I can say I'm 99.9% certain it was him. It's a cool thing for the area and the promotion," Young said.

Punk never commented on the situation, and hasn't returned to the ring, at least that we know of. The situation did lead to Fightful uncovering another Punk indie appearance years before.

You can see Silas Young this weekend at ROH in Nashville on the 28th, in St. Charles on the 29th, and at 18th Anniversary in Las Vegas on March 13. Our full interview with Silas Young can be seen above.
