Steve Maclin talks about fighting through the blood in his gruesome Dog Collar Match with Eric Young on TNA iMPACT!

Steve Maclin recently defended his TNA International Championship against Eric Young in a very brutal Dog Collar Match. Following the match, TNA would announce that Maclin had suffered a minor skull fracture in addition to the excessive bleeding.

Speaking to Jeremy Lambert and Joel Pearl on Fightful Overbooked's In The Weeds, Maclin said he had no problem fighting through the blood, and while it was tough to see by the end, he was entirely coherent and responsive.

"I was perfectly okay with that. It was very hard to see towards the end. Once you see me giving Judas the backdrop, hit shirt skimmed my face so everything draped over my eyes. I’m waiting for Travis to come in and I see him charging me. I was like, ‘I guess I’ll throw one.’ Didn’t know where it was going to land. We got to where we needed to and somehow he was upside down. I caught him, hit him with a backbreaker, which was nice. I enjoyed that I came out on top in that moment, but it was very hard to see and hard to manipulate around, but the entire match I was very coherent and very responsive to the referee asking me every ten seconds, ‘Are you okay?’ ‘Yes, I’m fine. Leave me the fuck alone.’"

Steve Maclin has teamed up with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T), filming a commercial last October and planning to take part in the T2T Tower Climb in New York City on June 1, 2025, where people will climb 104 stories to honor the heroes of 9/11.

The event supports T2T and the Captain Billy Burke Jr. Foundation, which help families of fallen first responders and veterans. T2T was started to honor firefighter Stephen Siller, who died on 9/11. It now builds homes for injured veterans and first responders while also creating communities for homeless vets in cities across the U.S.

TNA Wrestling has since issued an edict banning excessive bloodletting. At this link, fans can read what Steve Maclin said about that in another recent interview with Fightful.
